• Jades, Gems, and More

  This was mildly interesting.

  

  I created the first one. I thought I might sketch something on top, but nothing inspired me. I tried blending other colors on top, but nothing moved me much. The last ditch effort was placing another field of color on top, even that did not impress me much. Maybe, it didn’t need anything more.

  Inspired by the dark artwork of the cover of sunn O)))’s black one album. An absolute masterpiece of not just drone metal, but black metal as well. It was the first album of sunn O)))’s I had listened to. I was listening to a lot of Mayhem when it was recommended to me. The recommendation made sense, given the connection between the two groups via Attila Csihar.

  These were made rather hastily in one evening. I’d gotten bored of simple field compositions and wanted to add some basic geometric shapes. The vertical slices reminded me of Barnett Newman’s The Stations of the Cross.
